I rode the Raleigh today. I had a training session at the main office, then pedaled my way to N'Awb'ny. Spring Street, the last end of Providence Way, Silver Street, Beharrel Street and others have had a couple inches of asphalt ground off them in preparation for repaving. As noted, I have mixed feelings about repaving, but I will enjoy the new pavement when riding. The ground-off roads give a buzz through the handlebars and seat, and if the grinding lines aren't straight, they tend to alter my path a bit, which can be disconcerting. I'll be glad when they get done with it.
I thought about going on the 6:30 club ride this evening, but I'm expecting a friend to bring some stuff by the house. I'm to fetch a tandem tomorrow evening for some preventive maintenance work, and I get to use it for RAIN this year--Barry Zalph may be my stoker for the event.

Barry as your stoker? I need pictures. :)
Sadly, it won't happen that way after all. I heard from Barry Tuesday evening, and an injury will prevent his riding RAIN this year.
